Hoof Oil from Karen Sampson
Items needed:
One large mixing bowl
Spoon or whisk
Plastic container with lid that does not leak
One butter size block of lard
Half a cup of Penut Oil
Glitter (for that fancy touch)
Mix the lard with the penut oil until it goes creamy white and tip into plastic container.
In winter I add extra penut oil to make it softer.
For competitions add the Glitter to the hoof oil and stir it in well. This adds a brilliant effect to the hoof and quickly wears off and is not harmful to the horse. Although be sure to have plenty of glitter as children tend to rush for the one color!
