Current Status 8 September 2007
South Australia - Horse Movement is allowed with the appropriate permit. Also Equestrian events, while discouraged, are allowed with the appropriate permits. for more details see the SA Primary Industry and Resources Website.
New South Wales - A total standstill still applies with large fines applicable
Queensland - A standstill still applies without the appropriate permits, but some events may be held as long as strict conditions are adhered to.
Victoria - The DPI Vic in conjunction with Peak bodies has recommended that no equestrian events are held. more
Tasmania, West Australia and Northern Territory - Movement bans have been lifted, but strong caution and alertness to any symptons is still a must. Any possible cases of EI MUST be reported More information here
